Hello, and a warm welcome to my little blog.
I’ve not written much over the last few months due to work, and making a few SR3D microphones. Parts have been hard to find that are from a reliable source, were getting there. We’ve designed our own circuit boards now, for both the XLR phantom powered SR3D, and for the basic SR3D microphone. These boards should be here mid January, and with luck will be working properly when we put the components in them!
Were working hard to find a great way to mount the dummy head microphone (basic and XLR Type), as you can imagine polystyrene is not too strong, so were looking for a cheaper way to do this than my present method.
We’ve found a way so that replacing a battery is now far more easy, no removing an ear to get the battery out for the basic SR3D tubes, though the battery box cover isn’t white – we’re looking for white ones!
I’ll update this update with a few photographs soon.
I am very pleased with the XLR versions as the sound quality for me at the costings are really good, I hope to be testing the whole range with various types of recorders to see how they perform, I may bring a competition to my YouTube channel with the lucky winner to win a SR3D microphone of their choice basic microphone, or the phantom powered XLR type. I have no idea what theme the competition could be, so I may ask my audience to make that choice.
SNK Studios in London produce lots of talking books, some very famous people come to their studios to create wonderful works, they have just purchased a SR3D XLR Tube version.
Below is their microphone in their studio looking very smart.
Dana ASMR in South Korea decided to get the SR3D XLR binaural dummy head, I have never seen anyone looking so happy for such a long time! I’m sure her subscribers will like her new purchase too.

Well that’s it for now folks!
I hope you all have a wonderful new year, and that it brings you much joy, and good luck.
Happy new year!
