After many hours of hard work I eventually made the SR3D Binaural Microphone. It is a basic binaural microphone.
I’m hoping to have a model that uses plug-in power, line-out and XLR, with connectors including 3.5mm jack and phono. I recently uploaded a demo of the SR3D microphone in June, I had no idea what was going to happen, I just put it out there on YouTube and the ASMR community found it, and that was that, thrown into the deep end of amazing, kind hearted, well wishing, up lifting, inspiring words left in the comment section that I have ever experienced.. mostly on the fact that I was a “Good” ASMRtist! with a good deal of comments referring to the quality of sound I feel that it was well worth all my efforts over the last two years.
I mentioned in the first video that “Frank” was a test microphone, and if anyone wished to buy it, to contact me. I had several offers and other questions, however it was Tabuhan AMSR that eventually decided that he would take the opportunity to buy the microphone, I was a little nervous as Tabuhan lived out side of the UK, he was in Istanbul.
Once the SR3D binaural microphone arrived Tabuhan contacted me, asking a few technical questions about the microphone, so I made a few suggestions and Tabuhan made his first video test with the SR3D binaural microphone.. I was looking forward in hearing what other people thought about Tabuhans new mic, as I’ve had the comments about my audio when I made my videos, I was wondering would the same apply?
With an incredible all round YES of approvals Tabuhan was now very happy! and so was I!
I can now try for a even cheaper version that is inside a UPVC tube, but I will still make the polystyrene heads as there is something about using a head that is good. Walking about on the street is difficult, so the tube version would be far better, you will still be asked questions like “do you work for the BBC” or “Are you filming” are the most asked!

If you are interested in buying a binaural microphone please get in touch, the ones that I am making at present are within many peoples budget, depending on the output required I am offering a simple budget SR3D binaural microphone at £149.
I’m also looking at a few other ideas that will make the SR3D binaural microphone a very versatile device with many applications for it’s use, not just ASMR where it seems to excel going by the comments left on my own videos, and those of Tabuhans video.
I will update this post of the UPVC binaural microphone tube with a photograph soon
