A quick update,
I’ve installed the SR3Di USB microphone in the garden, it’s connected to a Raspberry Pi mini computer and has a 5M USB repeater plugged into it for extra reach to the microphone. The SR3Di is in a metal case with a dummy head placed over it where the ears should be on a head, it is wearing a balaclava and a ‘beanie’ woolly hat for wind protection.
Audio quality is far better than I had ever hoped. To listen to the stream you must reduce the audio levels to that which sound normal, as if you were in a garden not wearing headphones, close you’re eyes and image standing still in a garden, wildlife is abundant during the day light hours, and if lucky at night you may hear Foxes, hedgehogs, Owls, mice (or worse) cats fighting/crying, trains at the station, aircraft over head etc etc, or you could hear me now and then.
The stream can be found on my main website: http://sr3d.co.uk or a direct link here (could be a dead link, but can be heard on my sr3d main website), please be sure to remember to lower the volume so that it sounds natural like you were not wearing headphones for the binaural experience to be at it’s best.
If you are interested in buying a quality binaural microphone please check out our main website.
Enjoy your stay!
