Well I’ve managed to find a great site for streaming my binaural audio, so with another Raspberry Pi ordered I’m hoping that at the weekend I will be trying out the 3G mobile Internet with a live test. Not only that, but I also hope to update my website with a GPS link so that whoever is listening, could, if they knew the GPS link, see where I was live using Glympse on my iPhone provides the GPS, though I may have to turn off the mobile network on my phone, so that I do not get interference with my audio, I can use the wifi from my 3G router at the same time I guess, this is why I will be trying the test… meh…
The setup will be using an old laptop battery, going to two 12v to 5v inverters, I found by using just one that was powering both the Raspberry Pi and the 3G router was not quite enough power, and the 3G router would reboot every few minutes, tried them both connected and everything seemed fine, the 3G signal isn’t too good here at home, and the upload speeds are very poor too, so when I’m out and about with the setup, I will take my laptop to do a speed test, and so that I can update the website of the Glympse data so that people can follow “Frank” in real time.
With any luck the first outing will be this weekend 16th or 17th May.
Here’s the website for those that are not aware of it: http://awi3d.plus.com/
I have a HD (720p) CCTV camera in the garden with a infrared filter on the lens, so that any wildlife should be easy to spot in the garden now, as all the green stuff looks white, and the majority of living things are black, sky looks cool too sometimes, you will have to try it – user admin, password is left blank.
Or if you have VLC installed, you can add the stream by opening a network connection and pasting the following (it takes about 30 secs before the image comes, but you will see it in full screen if you want then) codes is:
The black and white images during the day, especially if it a nice sunny day can be quite spectacular.
