Being very much an avid video content up loader to YouTube, and investing in quality camera equipment was the first step that has lead me to the other side of video.. Sound!
Seems quite obvious really, however, when I first realised this I had no idea that it was going to lead me on a epic journey of experimenting with many types of sound, that eventually got me to create a blog in regard to “binaural 3D sound”..
With quite a few recorders purchased, and re-sold on, I eventually managed to purchase a Zoom H6, which is very good for binaural recording with the high bit rate of 24bit. The recorder does have a few quirks that for me, are a little disappointing, but I get by with it.
I hope to add images of the recorder in action, and links to videos that I have created, with the 3D “head” recordings added to the footage, it is very early days at present (Dec 2013).
I have seen a number of other blogs on this subject, the building of the ears, and many new types of devices coming on to the video market with 3D sound capabilities, at a price..
My 3D ears have not cost much money, though the time I have used doing it, is many hours work, and experimentation.
If you think that this is something that you are interested in please check out my sound cloud page that has many examples of my recordings to date.
I stream my recordings here:
